La Bataille de Friedland et Danzig 1809

Le Siege de Danzig 1807

4e Prussian Sortie (Feindflug) Mainly the Prussians sortie to disrupt the sapping operations and camp of General Chasseloup or to recapture decisive areas. The Prussians have a force directed at targeted areas, as indicated by where the Sortie counter is placed next to an area on the Prussian Allocation Chart. The Prussians do not have to Sortie or can Sortie once weekly. The Prussian declares a Sortie , indicates the increments used and the target. This is compared to the French defense in the area. A simple odd is established, a die is rolled and combat a la melee chart is consulted. The result will indicate if the Sortie was successful and the losses, if any to the combatants. Sorties against the saphead would actually be calculated against the saphead defense 5e French Offensive Operations (Stuermen)

In 2e the French may have designated offensive operations against a specific target. The goal of General Lefebvre is to cutoff Danzig from all resupply of both soldiers and supplies. Therefore in addition to digging their way to the city’s defenses, holding on to key locations, the French will attempt to capture additional strategic points. Based on the French allocation during 2e , the French will declare one offensive action weekly, against a specific target and with a number of increments. This is noted by where the attack counter is placed next to an area. The increments allocated are compared to the Prussian defense in the area. A simple odd is established, a die is rolled and the combat a la melee chart is consulted. The result will indicate if the offensive

action was successful and the losses, if any to the combatants. 6e Sapheads

Much of the work of the French X Corps d’ Armee involves the arduous work of constructing parallels, trenches and mining. Since the Prussians take every opportunity to shoot at the sappers as the range closes, casualties are high for the Polish, Baden and Saxon troops doing the work. The progress is defined by the number of increments committed to the work force and the ability to defend against Sorties. The French identify the number of increments digging and consult the Saphead Progress Chart to determine the progress made. Mark the progress on a square by using one of the French flags. Once the works reach the walls of the city of Danzig at the Hagelsberg(square 15), the Prussian Commander will surrender. Hopefully the Prussians can slow this advance until the Coalition sends a relief force.
