La Bataille de Friedland et Danzig 1809
Le Siege de Danzig 1807
2e Troop Allocations Simultaneously the Prussian and the French decide how they will allocate their forces for various tasks necessary to the Siege . This is done purely by points based on the forces available. Each increment is roughly equal to 500-1000 men. Once both sides have allocated troops and sortie/attack operations, then both sides reveal their cards. Use increment loss informational counters to designate the force allocations. The Prussian Allocation Chart lists categories for the Prussians such as defense of Danzig,
area defense and Sortie. The French Allocation Chart lists categories for the French such as sapping, saphead defense, area defense and attack. Each side starts the game with a set number of increments. Increments may be lost in a variety of actions or more increments may be acquired depending on circumstance detailed elsewhere. Each player must therefore, carefully balance operations in anticipation of enemy moves.
In addition to the allocation troops, the Prussians have static garrisons of 4 increments at Ft. Neufahrungswasser and 6 at Ft. Weichselmunde. These may not be used for any purpose other than defense for their respective areas. These areas may be reinforced by adding more increments. The Prussians also have 1 increment each at Danzig, Holm Island, Nehrung and Kalk Redoubt. These areas may be reinforced but the 1 increment garrison remains in each area unless defeated and captured by the French. Increments available for allocation by the Prussians at the start of the Game are 22. Increments available for allocation by the French at the start of the game are 37. When both sides have completed allocations and actions, their respective charts are revealed to the other side. The French have 1 increment each at the French Camp and Saphead defense. These areas may be reinforced by adding increments but the 1 increment remains in each area as a garrison. If this garrison is a casualty, the French player must replace it from his allocation increments. Therefore there must always be a 1 increment garrison at each location. Increments available for allocation by the Prussians at the start of the game are 22. Increments available for allocation by the French at the start of the game are 37.
