As Grotschakoff ’ s 5 th Division, I Russian Corps, with a Prussian Brigade supporting, frontally assaults Liebertwolkwitz, Klenau ’ s Division IV Army Abteilung will try to maneuver to the east of the village forcing Lauriston ’ s V Corps d ’ Armee to retire. However, MacDonald ’ s XI Corps d ’ Armee is in position to support and will use one or two divisions to maintain the Liebertwolkwitz position. Given the political situation the 39e Division may be reluctant to close with the Coalition forces.
