Guide to the Scenario Maps An overall scenario map is provided for depicting the limits of play for Scenarios 2; 3; 4; and 5 as denoted by the color outline. Such boundaries define the borders of the scenario and thus the entire map(s) is not available for play. Boundaries may include parts of several maps. The selected conflicts depicted in the scenarios are only a part of the whole battle. Outside of the boundaries there were troops from both sides locked in combat. The scenarios therefore focus the players on certain events and geographical objectives. A deliberate decision was made not to place these boundaries on the actual map. This would only lead to confusion and clutter—not to mention a lack of good taste. Units are excluded from using the boundary hexes. Units undergoing a rout would move directly from the enemy, but cannot cross any boundary. Units forced to move or retreat on a border, are removed from play. Scenario 2 locates a cross where the Tsar is to remain throughout the scenario. Moving the Tsar from this location will affect the morale of the Coalition army. Scenario 3 limits the river crossings of the Pleisse to Markkleeberg and Krustewitz. Coalition forces may not move within 3 hexes of Dölitz. Thus, the Pleisse River becomes a watery boundary, except at the crossings.
