La Bataille de Bautzen 1813

Orders of Battle

While the troop’s organizations are fairly complementary, the actual formations that participated in the battle are subject to much debate. In some cases the French Cavalry regiments are so small, we just combined them into one unit. Regiments having more than one battalion have a regimental counter, if applicable. While the number and identification of gun batteries are in also debate, this simulation does have an accurate count of the total artillery pieces. Ney’s values in particular are based on battle and attrition losses just before the battle. Some units that are listed in historical orders of battle were not actually at the battle, but part of the organization. Some units were left along the march as garrison troops.

Some forces joined the battle in the very late evening and are part of the pursuit. Their appearance was beyond the scenario’s finish.

Russian / Prussian Regiments

Many Russian Regiments have only one battalion and therefore do not have a regimental counter. Regiments are not part of the Prussian field organization; rather operating in brigades and battalions.
