La Bataille de Friedland et Danzig 1809

Le Siege de Danzig 1807 8e Surrender of Danzig Surrender may occur in two ways:

Once the French have established they have reached the walls of the city (square 15 on the Saphead Progress Chart ), the Prussians will surrender. Many turns of dedicated work are required. Storming the city without this preparation is very risky for the French. However if the Prussians do not provide for enough defenders to man the ramparts a selected attack could capture the defense and the city. A French Offensive is successful if a “DS” result was achieved. The Prussian Allocation Chart will list the garrison the Prussians maintain in Danzig. The French may try an assault directly against Danzig. If the French are successful, the city would surrender. Increments in Danzig are x2.5 melee for defense, so French casualties could be high The goal of the Prussians is to prolong the Siege at least as long as they did historical and perhaps a little longer. The French want to end the Siege sooner than historical as Napoleon would like to use these troops elsewhere. If the Prussians surrender before the May 17 turn, 10e Relief is not played and the French win decisively. If the Prussians can hold out until the end of the May 10 turn, the results of 10e will impact the duration the city ultimately holds out. 9e Calculation of Increments Use the tales provided to establish the increments available at the beginning of the next turn. This is done by using the charts provided. They list the changes in a column format. Increments will be lost and added in a variety of ways. These tables provide a convenient method for tabulation. Every increment counts! 10e Relief This is for game turn 10 only and follows the structure and play of a typical la Bataille scenario using the ME Premier Rules . Of course this could be played as a standalone scenario for improving infantry combat tactics. Most of the historical units at Danzig were replacements, garrison and invalid formations. Use the Technical and Special Rules from Le Siege de Danzig 1807 Starting with the 5:00 am turn and ends on the 2:00 pm turn Some troop placement will depend on how many areas the Prussians or French hold at the beginning of 8e
