Finally, the Austrian leadership is generally much weaker than the French, but that is all the more reason to put the limited Austrian leadership up on the front lines. Do not hesitate to use Hiller and Karl. Count Rapp reported in his memoirs how Karl personally led the charges in and around Essling to blunt the French attacks.
